DVR recorded movie ratings #17

Wow, if I keep posting reviews as fast as I have been, I may not have to post for quite sometime. My list of movies on my DVR is actually getting shorter. Most of the recordings seem to be stuff my hubby records from Adult Swim.
As you may have known, we live in Austin. We moved here a little over a month ago and I must say it still feels very new to me, but I'm loving it. We are still trying to find our favorite stores and restaurants, but it's been a very pleasurable move from living in Houston. We have been to more outings since moving here and for me, yesterday was the best outing. We attended the Austin Pet Expo. We had gone to the expo when it we were in Houston, but sadly, it was a great disappointment. There weren't a lot of pets and the area in which it was held in was more empty than full. So, I kept my fingers crossed on this one. Austin is a dog-loving place, among other pets. So when we walked into the Palmer Events Center, my eyes bugged out. Doggies everywhere!!! Big, small, scruffy, happy, excited, some scared...they were everywhere and SOOOO adorable. Sadly, we don't have a dog yet (damn my hubby! =P), but it was fun to go. There were treats (some free) for dogs and I got my petting on so much. All this excitement made me miss my Daisy, but I held my head up high. We found a wooden frame with her name on it, and I'm quite sure after seeing my "oh my gawd! We HAVE to get this for Daisy", my hubby pulled out his wallet and bought it. I love my husband for being so tolerable about my cheesiness excitement on basic things. Oh, did I forget to mention that this Dog Expo was free? Parking is not, but who the fuck cares, you get to see doggies and other pets!
Okay, enough about what we did, let's get stared with movie reviews.

• Tsotsie: This is a South African movie with subtitles. I had heard about this movie years ago, so I decided to record it. Oh my fucken god! This guy is ruthless, at first anyway. Tsotsie is a street thug that decides to steal a car and doesn't realize that there is a baby in the back seat. When he hears the baby make noise, he panics and crashes into a street sign. Now, at this point, I would either abandon the car and baby, or leave the baby by the roadside and call the cops but take the car. No, instead Tsotsie leaves the car and takes the baby. Now, this guy doesn't know anything about caring for a baby. He carries it in a paper bag and feeds it condensed milk (which was a BAD idea cause you don't feed that to babies and when he came back after being gone, there were ants all over the baby's face and in his mouth.). In the slums of where he lives, he sees a young mom and follows her to her place. He threatens to kill her if she does not breast feed the baby, which she does. After Tsotsie leaves, he comes back days later threatening her again if she doesn't feed him. She does so and bonds with the baby. After some time, she tells Tsotsie to leave the baby with her, but he insists it's his baby. She then tells him that she knows who the baby really belongs to, that it is in newspaper and the news. He freaks out and takes the baby. He then realizes that no matter what he does, he will get caught. He decides to take the baby back to his home and there is a cop there, who calls for backup. During the movie, Tsotsie has flashbacks of his childhood and how he lost his mom at a young age, so he felt guilty at times about what he has done. In the end, we see Tsotsie dressed nice and leaving the slums behind him to start a new life. I give this movie 5 Daisy-girls.
• Your Sister's Sister: Man, this movie is messed up. Not really as fucked up as other movies I've seen, but really messed up. After the death of his brother, Jack is still feeling lost. His deceased brother's girlfriend, Iris, suggests he goes and clears his mind at her parents getaway island home. So, he goes for it, but he's not alone. Iris's sister, Hannah is there. There is an awkward moment because they have never met each other and Jack thought he would be there by himself. Well, they start talking and drinking, more drinking than talking. Turns out Hannah left her 7 year relationship to a woman and has been living in the cabin. After some time, the talk leads to sex talk (of course) and Jack keeps talking. She interrupts him by saying ok, let's do it. Jack is stunned, but jumps at the chance to fuck a lesbian. They make their way into the bedroom and he realizes he doesn't have condoms. She goes and finds one and they proceed. The next morning, Iris unexpectedly shows up to surprise Jack, only she didn't know Hannah was going to be there. After hugs and everything else, all three start joking around and everyone is at ease, except for Jack. Every chance he gets, he tries to tell Hannah not to mention anything to Iris about what happened. Iris couldn't care less and is very calm about the whole situation, while Jack is trying to find excuses for things. Well, it turns out that Iris tells Hannah that she really likes Jack, that over the year of her boyfriend's passing, she has gotten closer to him... and she wants to tell him. Hannah is a bit hesitant and tries to convince her otherwise. Finally, Hannah can't take it anymore and she tells her that she fucked Jack. Iris, being pissed and hurt confronts Jack and accuses him of taking advantage of her heart-broken lesbian sister. Hannah then yells out that she didn't know Iris is in love with Jack. Jack was stunned. Then Jack goes to find the trashcan where he threw the used condom away. Turns out there were several holes in the condom. (A bit earlier that day, Iris had mentioned that since now Hannah is single, she can have a baby seeing as her ex-partner was against it.) Jack brings it up during the arguing and Iris confronts Hannah, where Hannah confesses that she really wants a baby. This shocks Iris even more because not only has her lesbian sister fucked the guy she loves, but she may also be pregnant by him. I felt bad for poor Jack because he didn't take advantage of Hannah, she suggested having sex. But he was fucked as in being tricked into having sex for the purpose of impregnating someone. There is more discussion and at the end of the movie, all three of them are holding  a pregnancy tests and see the result. We don't know what the result is. I yelled out, "NoOooooooooo." My hubby jumped and I kept shaking my head going, "no, no, no, nooooo agk!!!" So yeah, I give this movie 4 Daisy-girls.
• Melancholia: Movie starring Kirsten Dunst, Kieffer Sutherland, Alexander Skarsgard, and Charlotte Gaisnbourg. Hmm, I'm going to be very bad at describing this movie, but if you want to see a dark, depressing, artistic movie, watch this one. Kirsten and Alexander are late 2 hours to their wedding receptionist, the family is pretty pissed off, mostly the sister and brother-in-law who paid for the wedding. During the festivities, Kirsten slips in and out of the party because something is not right. (She had noticed a new star earlier). Her mom insults her, her boss tells her to be a better employee, her sister insists she be happier considering she paid for everything. Kirsten cries a lot and I can see why. After one of Alexander's attempts to bed her, she pulls away and goes to the gold course, where she fucks her boss's son in a sand trap. Alexander realizes that he can't go on with Kirsten and her moods, leaves her (still wedding party night) and she is once again miserable. The next day, Kirsten is seen extremely miserable and her sister tries to help her take a bath. Kirsten is feeling so out of it that she cringes and cries saying she can't do it. Later on, her mood seems to be lifted and she begins to be her normal self. But then the sister starts feeling as if something is not right. Remember the new star Kirsten saw? Well, it turns out that it's a blue planet that is inching its way toward Earth. Kieffer is an astronomer, and Charlotte's husband, who is keeping an eye on this planet. During this time, we see that it has taken affect on Charlotte and not so much on Kirsten, as if she has already accepted that the end may be near. The planet missed Earth and all is well. The next day, we see Charlotte looking at the planet and it seems pretty far. Later on, we see that the planet is getting closer and closer. Charlotte tries to find Kieffer and when she does, he is in the stable dead from a pill overdose. Charlotte panics, grabs her kid and tries to drive off, except the cars are all dead. Kirsten is following her asking what's going on. Kirsten has accepted that death is luring around the corner, Charlotte doesn't want it to happen and is scared (wouldn't you be?!). They build a make-shift teepee and all three sit in it blindfolded as the blue planet closes in on them and the movie ends. This is a long movie, be prepared to sit for a while. I liked it, but it felt it was a bit slow at times, either way, I give this movie 4 Daisy-girls.

DVR recorded movie ratings #16

The past few days have been a blur at times. I really don't see where the time has gone considering I haven't done much lately. I need to find myself and star to do things I have enjoyed in the past. I love to cook and I do cook, but not as often as I would like. I've been looking at recipes, which most look good and I've bookmarked them, so maybe one day I will get the courage to REALLY try something different. My hubby is not complaining about my cooking, he loves it, I only wish I had more motivation to want to try something new and different. Enough about me, let's get into talking about some movies.

• In Search Of A Midnight Kiss: I'm kicking myself about this movie. I was SO sure I had typed out a review of this movie when I saw it a few weeks ago. I went back in my blog, but could not find it. So this was on a few days ago and I wanted to see what I had written about it. Well, I hadn't. How the fuck this movie went past me without having written anything about it had me baffled. I even mentioned it to my hubby, because he watched this movie with me and liked it. The movie is set on New Year's Eve and a single guy who is living with my friend and his girlfriend. The friend suggests the single guy post a personal ad to find a date, so he won't be so lonely. He hesitates, but finally does it. He gets a response and meets up with a gal. It's quite funny, because she questions him a bit then tells him to go sit at another table cause another potential date had arrived. After turning the second guy down, the gal and him then take on the getting to know you phase by walking and talking throughout Los Angeles (love it!). She is testing him and he isn't too sure of how he should be responding to her. They argue, decide to go their separate ways, but never really do. There are a few other mishaps going on, some quite funny. But in the end, she reveals that she is pregnant. He does get his midnight kiss and something afterwards. I give this movie 4 Daisy-girls.
• Conception: This was not a recorded movie, but something that was on late at night (1:30am) and I figured I would watch it and fall asleep. I think this movie had gotten a two star rating, but we actually enjoyed it. It has to do with about 5 couples who are either trying to get pregnant, or get pregnant (prepared for it or not). I wouldn't consider this a typical aww, I want to have a baby movie. Ok, well it had very little of it, but it was more of the (funny and not so funny) obstacles couples have gone through to make this happen. This movie wasn't all too serious, so it didn't really tug at my heart, except for a few moments, but overall it was pretty enjoyable. I give this movie 4 Daisy-girls.
• The Chorus: This was another unrecorded movie that we watched during a nice lunch I had prepared that consisted of chik-n wraps with mushrooms, lettuce, ranch dressing, and tomato, accompanied by a strawberry and banana smoothie. Yum, I'm getting hungry as I'm typing this out. Anyway, We didn't catch the first few minutes of this movie, but it's a French film that was sadly dubbed. It was still a good movie, but I prefer subtitles over dubbed movies. It has to do with a new teacher at an all boys boarding school where the headmaster is a hard-ass to the boys and the staff.  The teacher gets through the boys by having them in a choir, which the headmaster sees as a waste of time. The teacher never really wanted anything for himself, just the best for the boys. A countess comes to listen to them sing and the headmaster is hating the idea, but  smiles when she shows up. When the headmaster is away to get recognition of how well he is heading the school by the countess, he gets a call saying there is an emergency at the school. Turns out the school was on fire by a boy he had previously mistreated and had kicked out and had had arrested for supposedly stealing from him. In the end the new teacher is fired (he had taken the boys on a nature walk and had left school grounds), due to what the headmaster called negligence of the school. Meaning if they had been on the grounds the fire wouldn't have occurred. As the teacher walks out, there is a voice-over about how he never got a chance to say good-bye to the boys. As he turns the corner, he notices there are a lot of paper airplanes on the ground and when he looks up, he sees a lot more flying down. He opens a few of them and there are notes written from the boys to the teacher. He ends up walking to the bus stop, where soon one of his students tells the teacher that he wants to go with him. After saying no repeatedly, the teacher gives in and brings the boy on board. It was a Saturday. I give this movie 5 Daisy-girls.
• The Child: This is another French film, but with subtitles. I didn't like it. At all. It has to do with an asshole who has kids steal for him, then he gives them a cut of however much he makes from the stolen goods. Then there is a gal who is carrying a baby and trying to find this asshole because it turns out she JUST GOT released from the hopsital with her NEWBORN baby, who belongs to the asshole. When she finally finds him, he doesn't even seem ecstatic, then we learn that he never even went to go visit her at the hospital and he wasn't even there for the delivery. She wants to go to her place, but the asshole has sublet it out to some guy who can get his fuck on with a girl. So the new mom and baby have to sleep in a shelter for a few nights. She questions him about getting a job and he claims that "working is for losers". Uhm, then what the FUCK are you asshole?! Well, it turns out that he mentions he is a dad to one of his sellers and the lady makes a remark on how baby selling is a big thing and you can get a lot of money. While waiting in line to get food stamps (I think) the mom suggests to the asshole to take the baby for a walk. He does, then he calls the lady about selling the baby...which he does, without any hesitation. He ends up meeting back with mom  and she asks about the baby. This good for nothing asshole deadbeat dad nonchalantly tells her, "I sold him, I got good money." She argues with him and ends up fainting twice. He then has to carry her to the hospital where she told the nurses what he did to the baby. He gets questioned by the police and he denies everything stating that they got in an argument and she was upset with him, so she made up lies. Afraid of going to jail, he calls the lady back and says he made a mistake and wants the baby back. He then takes the baby back to the hospital and is reunited with the mom. The asshole gets into more shit, and involves one of the kids he uses to steal with. The asshole tries to reconcile with the mom, but she's not having any of it. He then goes to visit the kid in jail and he finally admits that he is the one stealing and that's where the movie ends. I did not like this movie whatsoever. He needed to get a beating, raped, murdered...something, not just confess to stealing merchandise. Nothing was mentioned about stealing or selling the baby. I don't know how this movie had a rating of 3 stars. I give this movie 1 Daisy-girl, if that.

Meet Daisy: The ratings movies are based on doggie

I never really showed a picture of my doggie. I love her, as you can tell. I rate movies based on her and the opinions are my own. She doesn't live with me, so these picture are a few years old. I left her with my parents when I moved to Texas 5 years ago. I miss her terribly, but I know she is in good (too damn good) hands with my parents.

DVR recorded movie ratings #15

Man, you'd figure with lack of sleep I would be posting this stuff rather sooner than later. But here goes another 5 movies:

• Cache: French movie with subtitles. I didn't catch the first 10 minutes of the movie, so when I saw the rest of it, I thought I missed something. Well it turns out I still missed something. I'm all for movies with context clues of what's to happen or what's happened, but I don't like movies that end with unanswered questions and open to possibilities of who did what and why. I had to go online and see what else I could find out about this movie and if there were any answers to questions I had about it. Well there are, but they are all opinions. Don't get me wrong, the movie was pretty good but when I saw the credits, I was all," nooooooooooooooo, wtf? who sent those tapes? What happened to the other son? Why did the foster brother slit his throat? Was someone being threatened? and much more." This family gets anonymous calls and VHS tapes of recordings that have to do with with man's life when he was younger. Every tape provides a clue and finally it leads him to his foster brother's apartment who he had completely forgotten about. He accuses the brother of wanting to get money or something else from the family, the brother swears up and down that it wasn't him. The story continues on like for for quite some time and that's how it ends too. Lots of unanswered questions. I would have loved to give this movie 5 Daisy-girls, but I was left unsatisfied, so I'm giving it 3 Daisy-girls.
• Felon: This movie stars Stephen Dorff (yum), Val Kilmer (SO not his Batman and Top Gun days, but more Wonderland and after days). This movie was not what I thought it was going to be about. Considering the name, I thought he was going to be sent to prison, then he escapes and is running from the cops. Noooo. Stephen's house got broken into, he ends up hitting the intruder's head with a baseball bat and he dies. Stephen gets arrested because it didn't happen INSIDE his home, but the neighbor's front yard. If he pleads guilty, he gets sentenced to 3 years in the pen and whatefer time he has served is counted for. So, he pleads guilty. At first, he is shit scared of wtf is going on in the prison, as would I. Then he gets to bunk with Val Kilmer. Love his first line toward Stephen, "Do you want to fuck or do you want to fight?" Haha. Anyway, Val kind of takes him under his wing (not his bitch) and tells him who is who in prison. So in order to survive he has to become a hardass. And a hardass he becomes, fighting with the black guys and mexican guys. Then of course, there is always a bad cop (the black dude from OZ who was the narrator) who enjoys watching the prisoners fight and even bets with the other cops on who is going to win. So, in order to reduce his sentence (since he has gotten in trouble, not his fault, and more time has been added), he has to somehow get the word out of what this bad cop is doing. He gets out and reunites with his fiancee and his kid. This movie was quite surprising and very good. I give it 5 Daisy-girls.
• The Iron Lady: This one stars Meryl Streep as Margaret Thatcher. Can I say wow? I don't know much about the ex-Prime Minister, but Meryl Streep played her very well. I felt bad for her because in the end, she basically had no one by her side. She was drinking a lot, hallucinating her husband that had died a few years back, her son (who she wanted to see) was in another country and made no attempt to try and visit her. The only person she had was her daughter and even then the relationship seemed distant. The movie goes back and forth into  her past life and present life from the time she was working at her parents shop. There really isn't much else to say, except, if you haven't watched this movie, do so. Might want to have the tissue box near by. I give this movie 5 Daisy-girls.
• Salmon Fishing In The Yemen: I remember seeing previews to this movie in the theaters and I thought, "this sounds dumb." Well here comes the lovely cable and decided to give this movie a try cause Ewan McGregor (yum!) is in it. It also stars Emily Blunt and Kristin Scott Thomas. It's basically about EXACTLY what the title says, salmon fishing in Yemen. Now, you might be thinking,"wtf? Yemen is in the fucken desert, damn, it is a desert." Well, guess what? You are correct, but it was much more than that. It was a sheiks dream to have flowing water and fishing there. There was also a storyline about love in there, and that was pretty good too. I still think the title of the movie was dumb, but it was much more than that. I recommend seeing this movie and I give it 4 Daisy-girls.
• MirrorMask: This movie was awesome! I mean the concept, the storyline, the artistic achievement (hubby's words, not mine). This movie kinda reminded me of something Tim Burton would do, but only BETTER! It was produced by the Jim Henson Company, so that ought to tell you that it is a good movie. It had hand drawn stuff, it had CGI stuff, but it was all a bit on the dark side. I can't really go into what it's about, IMDb says : In a fantasy world of opposing kingdoms, a 15-year old girl must find the fabled MirrorMask in order to save the kingdom and get home. Find this movie and watch it now! I give it 5 Daisy-girls.

DVR recorded movie ratings #14

OOOoh okay, check me out. I'm a roll on actually posting some movie reviews as quick as I can (two this week!!! Can you believe that?!?!?). Ya, I know it's not THAT exciting, just blame it on my lack of sleep. I swear I'm going to start taking something in order to fall asleep sooner than 4a.m.
So my husband knows I do these reviews, but doesn't even bother to read them or ask me about them or even go to my site. Fuck, I don't even know if he knows the url. At times, he watches my DVR movies with me, other times he doesn't. But, I HATE HATE HATE when he takes control of the remote after a movie has ended and decides to erase it from our DVR recording list. As soon as he does that, I ask him, "are you going to remember the name of this movie so I can write my review?" , then it dawns on him that OoOooh ya, the wife does this boring shit because she thinks people actually read her movie review blog when in fact there is only 1 follower and it's a friend from back in Cali who probably hasn't even read a single review of hers since my wife was added to her list of who she is following, and even then she was just being nice because my wife follows her on her on blog. No, I don't think he actual thinks this, it's just me ranting, because he deletes the movies (when by the time I review the movie, I may have forgotten the title of it, and because MAYBE I want to keep the movie, so I can watch it again later on) before I review them, and  don't think he realizes that these posts take quite some time to write about.

• On The Shoulders Of Giants: The Story Of The Greatest Time You Never Heard Of: See sometimes I am nice enough to record stuff that may appeal more to my hubby than me. This was somewhat the case on this documentary. My main reason for recording this was because my hubby loves basketball, especially old teams. I recorded this because Kareem Abdul-Jabbar was the writer and narrator of it. The film has to do with an all black team WAY back in the 1930's and how they were the greatest team of basketball of ALL TIME. I mean ALL THE FUCKEN TIME. Since, I think basketball has existed. I'm talking about 84 out of 90 games won. I'm talking about playing 10 games in 8 days. And the were called the Harlem Renaissance. So why haven't many people heard about this fucken baddass team? Because they were black. At some point, when the Celtics were the best of the best, they played against the Rens and won. They played again and ended up losing. The Celtics lost so badly that they decided to call it an exhibition game and not a regular game. In order words, they were ashamed to have lost to an all black team. This documentary features retired players, sons of the Rens players, and some coaches. It was a very moving and motivating film. I hope more people know about this film than I think, because I had never heard of this until a day before I saw it. I give this 5 Daisy-girls.
•  Take This Waltz: Oh my god! Uhm ya, go see this fucken movie. I loved it! Pretty sad, but can't help that I cheered for the main character to go after what she wants, but felt ashamed because of what actually happened. This movie stars Michelle Williams, Seth Rogen, and Luke Kirby (cutie!). Michelle and Seth are married, Luke is a neighbor. It's cute how Luke and Michelle kind of flirt, but are well aware that this cannot happen between them...at first anyway. The little tingle of excitement that something is interrupting your normal everyday life, especially when your husband, who you adore is too busy trying to write a cookbook about chicken. I don't really care for Seth Rogen and my hubby and I had a convo if he has ever done a movie in which he doesn't smoke weed or talk about it. Not that we see a lot of his movies, but ya, we were wrong in this movie. He's pretty clean. haha. Anyway, ya ooh this movie. I love it a lot. I give this movie 5 Daisy-girls.
• Velvet Goldmine: I have seen this movie on a lot of movie lists to watch. Hmm, does that make sense? This movie stars a lot of good actors: Ewan McGregor (yum!), Christian Bale (yum!), Toni Collette, and Jonathan Rhys Myers. Lots of glitter clothes and bad clothes, but the music was pretty kick-ass. I know I won't be saying much about what the movie is about, but I would recommend it. There is a little note at the beginning of the movie, how it is not based on a real story, but to turn it up full volume. I recommend this. The music is great. Sadly, I couldn't do this because I was watching it kind of late in the night. I give this movie 5 Daisy-girls.

DVR recorded movie ratings #13

I really need to start updating this movie blog more often. I've been watching movies, but then by the time I get to blogging about it, I'm losing valuable interest in what it was about. Not as in I don't know what rating to give it, but more as in valuable information of what makes it stand out, or parts of the storyline.

• Looper: I don't really care for Bruce Willis. Ya, I know and I don't want to hear it. I know him as David Addison from Moonlighting, not as the yippy- kayay crap. Never seen a Die Hard movie (well I've seen snip-its of it, but whatever). Anyway, I saw this because I had read that it was a good movie. I love me some Joseph Gordon- Levitt. Him, I can watch in multiple movies, the guy is awesome! Anyway, I had forgotten that I had read about his fake nose to make him appear more like a younger Willis. This did not look good on him, he looked kinda strange. I actually liked the movie, it was a bit predictable in some parts, but overall, it was a pretty decent and entertaining movie. I give this 4 Daisy-girls.
•  Fireflies In The Garden: This movie has a LOT of known names: Willem Dafoe, Julia Roberts, Ryan Reynolds, Emily Watson, Carrie- Ann Moss, Hayden Panettiere. The story flips from present to flashback and back to present through Ryan's eyes. His dad (Willem) was pretty damn strict, making him walk home in the rain for supposedly losing his glasses. As it goes to present time, we see that Ryan did not care to come home, but did so because his mom (Julia) was going to be graduating college after being a stay-at-home mom for years. Thing is, it turns out mom and dad got into a car accident due to their nephew ( of all people) standing in the middle of the street getting a baseball. Mom passes away and the rest of the movie is ow guilty the kid feels, Ryan and his sister trying to figure out what to do with mom's things and the secret life mom had (an affair for the past 2 years) with a professor who actually made her happy. Which was all Ryan really cared about. Willem was an asshole. I don't get how the movie got bad reviews, it's not so bad of a movie. There were a few unresolved issues, but I read about them in some movie spoiler sites. I guess I must have missed them in the actual movie, or it was just assumed. Anyway, I say go watch this movie. I give it 3 Daisy-girls.
• Inside Deep Throat: Uhm ya, go see this documentary. It talks about the actual movie "Deep Throat" and the real people involved in it are interviewed, except of course for Linda Lovelace (in case you didn't know, she died). It talks about how it became very popular, how it changed movie life, how it changed everyone's life who was involved in one way or another in the film. Even the main porn guy (the doctor! heh), who was sent to jail and was in there for 5 years(!) just for starring in this movie. Ya, they do show snip-its of the actual movie, so be prepared to actually watching the deep-throating going on. But this documentary was very interesting and that's not only because I have a sick twisted mind at times. I give this 5 Daisy-girls.
• Toast: Movie starts Freddie Highmore (Norman Bates!), Helena Bonham Carter, and some other actors. Starts from Freddie's character being young and how mom was not a great cook or baker, so every time she messed up dinner time (which was often), she would make toast. Once dad was awake at night and heard moaning coming from Freddie's room. Dad opens the door and asks what he is doing, Freddie's kid character pops up from under the covers and says nothing, after dad leaves, the kid pulls out a book about food that he had been looking at under the covers. He tries to make dinner a few times, but dad doesn't like change and mom feels as if she is useless, so once again, for dinner, there is toast. Mom passes away due to asthma and Helena shows up to cook and clean the house. This makes Freddie uncomfortable. As time passes, Freddie is now a high school kid who decides to take home economic classes so that he can cook for dad. Helena ( by now the step-mom) is still part of their lives and he competes with her to get dad's attention through food.  In the end, Freddie decides to leave and work at a restaurant kitchen where he is seen smiling and ready to enjoy his adult life. I give this movie 4 Daisy-girls.
• Celeste and Jesse Forever: I had been wanting to see this movie since it came out in the theater. Thank goodness I waited to see it at home. ya, I cried, what of it?!? It means I have a damn heart that got chipped a bit because I did really want Celeste and Jesse to work it out no matter what! I cried because this could be any couples relationship that married their best friend and their best friend means everything to them! Anyway, I wasn't really bawling, but it was a quirky movie in which Celeste and Jesse decide that their marriage didn't workout and decided to separate. He lives in the garage in the meantime and she lives in the house. they still hang out every day, feelings are still there, but they both try and stand their ground. Well damn Jesse fucks it up and slept with  chick (this is all told because it happened before the movie story line) and it turns out she is pregnant, so he wants to make it work out with her. Celeste says something that still to now make me wince. When they were discussing how kids was never an option in their marriage, Celeste says that it's not that she didn't want to have kids, she didn't want to have kids with him (Jesse). Ya, she had reservations about having kids with her best friend, her husband. Ouch!!!! This wasn't even a heated argument, where you say stupid shit you regret. No, this was an intimate discussion and what they were going to do about this pregnant chick. I'm sorry, but no matter what, if you still love your soon-to-be ex and is still in your life as your best friend, you NEVER tell them anything like that. THAT broke my heart, I felt bad for Jesse. I can't really say he fucked up because they were separated when he fucked the other chick. I say they both did, in other ways. Anyway, I give this movie 5 Daisy-girls.

Where does the time go? I usually post three movies at a time, but for some reason I was going through my DVR list and realized that I have watched six movies in total and not posted anything about them yet. But, I'm sticking with the three or four movie postings and hopefully I can get back on track with it. It's not that I've been watching a lot of recorded movies lately, it's more of where the fuck does the time go and I swear I posted this movie already, which I hadn't.

• Cliente: Spanish movie with subtitles.Marco leads a double life. He is Marco at home to his wife and family and he is Patrick to his clients. He works as a construction worker, but also as a male prostitute, hence the clients. He gets paid in cash and at times the ladies buy him gifts, which he then gives to his family as birthday gifts and such. He doesn't enjoy prostituting. In fact, the only reason he does it is because his wife owns a beauty salon and he is paying it off for her along with paying for everything else at home. The wife is cheerful and in love with her husband, he seems that way at first, but I dunno. Judith is one of his clients who works as an informercial spokesperson. He realizes who she is when he sees her on tv the next day. Judith works and lives next to her sister, who has a different and funny story of her own. Judith is older and single and calls the male prostitutes once or twice a month, but felt a closeness to Patrick. She soon starts to fall in love with him. The wife answers Marco's phone one day and she is given an address, to which the wife goes to. An Asian lady answers the phone and the wife demands to speak to her husband. Marco/Patrick comes out with a towel around his waist and the wife takes off running and crying. They start to argue at home, but her mom keeps butting in seeing as they all live together and the walls are thin. He promises her that he will stop prostituting, but when the money gets low and they can't pay rent for the salon, the wife has a change of plans, but with stipulations. She ends up meeting Judith and states that Marco/Patrick needs to get home by 8pm so they can have dinner together, no meetings on Saturdays and no sleepovers. Judith couldn't give a shit and soon Patrick is staying at her place longer. This starts another argument between the married couple, that she kicks Marco out. Marco gets drunk, then heads over to Judith who doesn't want to deal with a slosh, but soon gives in. They become a couple, but then Marco realizes he misses his wife and all this is not right. By this time, Judith doesn't want to let him go, but in the end they go their separate ways and Judith goes to visit her sister in America. I give this movie 4 Daisy-girls. It was a fun movie to watch.
• Monsoon Wedding: Indian movie with English and at times subtitles. Typical Indian movie (as if I've seen many) about an arraigned marriage and how the daughter does want to get married (because she feels she will get old and die alone, and she wants someone to love her unconditionally), but is scared to do so. Lots of lovely colors, and pretty women, dancing, and singing. There is also a little love story about the event coordinator and the housemaid of the main family, which is an aww moment at times. The main couple do have their ups and downs in where she tells him she doesn't want to marry him, but can't marry the guy she really wants. He gets upset, but on the drive home he tells her that he has been in love before, but that it never works out how we really want it to. They both compromise and soon are happy and comfortable with each other. the lovey-dovey stuff happens and it's all cute. There is another little side story about the main girls cousin and some family friend who is pretty much family. I had seen this movie mentioned before, but I had never bothered to watch it, I wish I had. Go see this movie, I give it 5 Daisy-girls.
