Wow, oh wow! Ever since we moved and we got a movie package deal from u-verse, I have been going movie crazy. Since my last post, I have 9 other movies to review. Some were blah and others were pretty interesting. So here goes....

• Quinceanera: I missed the first few minutes of the movie. I had seen the dvd box every time we've gone to Target, so when I saw this playing I decided to watch it. It's in English, but some Spanish. A 14 year old girl is pregnant and gets kicked out of the house by her dad, even though she claims over and over again that she did not have sex. She goes to live with her great uncle and her gay cholo cousin. Well, it turns out that she didn't have sex with her boyfriend, but I guess he jizzed on her leg or inner thigh, or right above her cooch and somehow it got in there. The boyfriend ends up dumping her, the great uncle dies, mom explains to dad what happened and she ends up having her quinceanera after all, but with a different dress. It was pretty decent, I was more interested in her gay cholo cousin. This is the first that I've seen and I wanted more storyline on him. I give this 4 Daisy- girls.
• V/H/S: Hmm, this movie....well... it was...hmmm...I don't know. A bit odd. Some guys who record and vandalize shit get hired by some guy to go get a VHS tape from some house where an old man lives. When they get there, they find a room with a lot of televisions and a lot of tapes. Oh, and the old man is dead on the sofa. One of the guys stays in the room (WTF so?!? I mean there's a dead old man there that reaks and it's fucken creepy) to view the tapes while the others go about the house to see what else they find. There are about 4 tape stories and each one gets more and more weird. I only got creeped out by one and that's because it had to do with some kid ghost. I won't go much into detail, but one story had a succubus girl, another had some Predator-like killer in the woods, the ghost kid one, and the last one was a seance one. I actually thought it was going to be more than what it was, nothing of what I thought. I give this movie 2 Daisy-girls.
• Carnage: Two couples get together to discuss  and clear up any confusion about their sons getting into a fight. Well, not exactly a fight, but some kid pushes the other kid and the other kid hits him in the face with a stick. Oh well kid, you get what you deserve. After the parents agree on a formal letter of what happened they decide to part ways but every time one couple was about to leave, their anger and confusion brought them back into the house. They end up talking, well more arguing about who is a better parent, who has raised their kid better, who likes animals... it goes on and on. The movie is set in a living room and it's these two couples arguing about anything that they do not see as making sense in the other couples lives. Loved Jodie Foster and Kate Winslet in it. The kids are never seen except when the incident occurred during the opening credits. Some arguments were justified while others were not. I think if I were put in that situation and that was my house, I would have kicked the other couple out a long time ago. If I was the other couple, I would have kicked them and let after I had finished barfing on their out-of-print books. I liked this movie more than expected, I give it 5 Daisy-girls.
• Colombiana: This movie stars Zoe Saladana. When she was small her parents got kicked by some bad guys. She ran away and found her way to her grandma's and uncles house in the States. Fast forward to her being older, she wants revenge for her parents being killed. Even though her uncle showed her how to kill (because that's what she wanted to do ever since she was a little girl), her uncle didn't know that she would be going after the people who killed her parents. It was an entertaining movie, some things were a little too hard to believe. I give this movie 3 Daisy-girls.
• Waterbone: I stumbled upon this movie late at night when I couldn't go to sleep. It had to do with someone tainting the L.A. River and people were advised to not drink or do anything with tap water, including washing your hands for 72 hours. I guess it was set sometime in the Summer because everyone was sweating. Has about 3 storylines and one of the guys goes all crazy cause he needs his water. So crazy he ends up killing for it. I mean I know we can't live without water, but I think I can manage for 3 days. There's other stuff to drink, but everyone wanted water. Oh, and for some reason, you couldn't drink beer, I don't know why, it wasn't really explained, but everything else was up for grabs since no one talked about them. Then one day it rains, and there's a newscaster talking about how they got the guy who possibly tainted the water and they don't see a terrorist relation. All of a sudden L.A. was all happy about getting their water. I love L.A. let me say it again... I LOVE L.A.! But this movie was dumb. I give it 1 Daisy-girl.
• The Other F Word:  This movie is more of a documentary about men in punk bands that are now dads. I liked it. I knew some of them, well the bands, but it was interesting to see their view on how a dad should be with their kids. Some of them got emotional because they either grew up without a dad, or dad was abusive, or a drunk, or something else. I give this documentary 5 Daisy-girls.
• Coco Avant Chanel: This movie stars Audrey Tautou. She plays Coco Chanel before she became Coco Chanel. It's in French with English subtitles. I don't know much about Coco Chanel the person, but if this movie is close to her real life then it was pretty damn interesting. She built a name for herself and was a very determined person. I give this movie 5 Daisy-girls.
• The Ides Of March: I think this movie won some awards when it came out. Finally saw it and it was pretty good. Stars George Clooney, Phillip Seymore Hoffman, Marisa Tomei, Ryan Gosling and a few other big names. Political movie. Ryan works for George, then he finds out something that occurred. Sees him through a new set of eyes and Ryan then doesn't know if he should keep working for him or not. I give this movie 4 Daisy-girls.
• Standing In The Shadows Of Motown:  Music documentary about the Funk Brothers band. They played the music for BIG names back in the day. ANyone you can think of that sang Motown music...The Supremes, Smoky Robinson, The Temptations, Martha and the Vandellas... It was a very informative and loving movie and dedication to one of America's best musicians that a lot of people did not know about. I give this 5 Daisy-girls.

Some of the following were recorded and others I just watched as they came on.

• About Cherry: Nothing special. Girl runs away from home and starts to do topless pictures, then becomes a stripper, then stars in porn. James Franco comes out in it as a coke-head lawyer. Dev Patel comes out as her best friend who jerks off to her porn, but when she finds out, she gets pissed and moves out. He has a point when he yells "Why can everyone else see you naked and I can't?" Well not the exact quote, but I hope you get the picture. 1 Daisy- girl.
• Dear Lemon Lima: Quirky movie about a girl who is half Eskimo and she gets a grant to attend the same school as her boyfriend. He is a dick. Goes away for the Summer, then he comes back and instead of dumping her, he strings her along. Only acknowledges her when she does something good, but otherwise ignored for other stuff. She gets sent to the weight room where there are other oddballs and the form a bond since no one else wants to be friends with them. Since it's based in Alaska, there are these events the school does and they form a team. TEAM FUBAR! Ya, don't think this ends on a feel-good moment, but it somewhat does. She finally comes to the realization that she can live without the boy, befriends an enemy, loses a neighbor friend, but she becomes her own person. I give it 3 Daisy-girls.
• Love Me If You Dare: This is a cutesy movie. Has to do with a boy and a girl who dare each other to do things that will pretty much get them in trouble. If you do the dare, you get to keep a carousel tin box. Well, that's what they do, but the try to outdo each other. It gets to the point where the principal, and even the parents try separating the two, but it doesn't work. As years pass on, they continue the dares and boy do they get daring. He dares her to wear her bras and panties over her clothes to her final exams, she dares him to fuck a colleague because she wants her earrings. After some time, he gets tired and says he needs a year off, so she agrees. They don't see each other, but once they reunite, the game continues. Later on, they don't see each other for I think about 10 years and when they reunite he is married and has 2 kids. He feels his life is a bored. He sees that she didn't come to see hi, but then he gets a box delivered and it's the carousel tin. He drives off, and meets up with her, a few dares here and there. They finally come together as a couple. Something that they did not want to face all these past years of knowing one another. I give it 4 Daisy-girls.
• Richard Pryor: Omit The Logic: Not a HUGE fan, but I liked him. Documentary about his comedic and private life. Lots of interviews with famous comedians and his ex-wives. Very interesting, amusing, and sad. I give it 4 Daisy-girls.
• A Better Life: Mexican dad who has been working illegally in L.A. as a gardener is trying to keep his teenage son out of becoming a loser and joining a gang. The son IS a loser. At the beginning of the movie he tells his dad he needs money. Dad pretty much tells him money doesn't grow on trees. Kid says, " I need money. Go mow some lawns."  Dad makes a BIG decision in trying to better his life for himself and his son, but they are soon shattered because his truck got stolen. The rest of the movie has to do with dad and son trying to locate the man who stole his truck, but they bond. They come across this Mexican celebration and the kid says, "What's this? A costume party?" At this point I was all what the fuck kid?!?! You're dad is illegally here, his main spoken language is Spanish, you have a damn cactus on your forehead, you live in East L.A. and you're questioning how Mexicans dress with their Charro suits and bold-colored dresses?! Are you fucken kidding me? Ugh, can't stand that kid. Anyway, they don't get the truck because it was sold to the black market, they find it, steal it, get stopped by the cops and dad is arrested. Kid goes to his aunt's house. Dad gets deported and the kid FINALLY realizes what dad has to put up with and has been going through for years to build a better life for himself and especially his son. I give this 4 Daisy- girls and not just because I'm Mexican.

     Although it seems like such a long time since I have posted, it's only been a little over a month and a half. So much has happened since then. Although I did not watch movies, instead I caught up with everyday television, I was distracted by other things. Such as moving! Yes, we finally moved out of Houston. I would be happier if we moved out of Texas, but we are still here. Nothing against Texas, I just don't/ didn't see myself living here in the long run. I still miss Cali, especially L.A., but the economy is still bad, if not it keeps getting worse. But like I mentioned before, we moved out of Houston and are now residing in Austin. We've been here a week exactly and we're still trying to find our way around here, but we love our new apartment and I love that there is no humidity. It has been in the triple digits these past few days, but I'm not feeling weighed down as I had been living in Houston. Give me dry heat, still don't like it, but I'm used to it much more than humidity.
     Since moving we upgraded our cable and we now have Showtime and the channels associated with it. My hubby and I have gone crazy with recording some movies. So here is what I've seen so far:

• Let The Right One In: Swedish movie with subtitles. I had read about this movie ever since it came out. I had seen it play on IFC, I think, but I never really got a chance to see it from the very beginning until now. I don't really go for ratings, but they sometimes catch my eye, especially if there has been some sort of buzz around it. Anyway, this movie got 3 stars.  As I was watching the movie (2 hours), I was waiting for the climax, the excitement, the hook, I never got it. I didn't see the 3 star quality. Maybe I missed something, but the way the movie was described it made it seem as if the boy was going to get the girl to take revenge on the bullies, but that wasn't the case at all. The just befriend each other since they are both loners. He is bullied and she is a vampire. I don't know, I guess I must have missed something, but I couldn't grasp to the story and I was waiting for it to end. I give this movie 2 Daisy- girls.
• We Need To Talk About Kevin: This was another movie I had been wanting to see and I had it up on my IMDB watchlist since it came out in the theater. This was interesting to watch. Tilda Swinton and Ezra Miller were great! Mom struggles with Kevin ever since he was a baby. She tries to connect with him throughout the years, but it's no use. The disconnection is there, the hatred, the awkwardness...it's all there. And even though mom tries to talk to dad about all this, he shuns it down claiming that Kevin is just a boy.  This story is told in flashbacks about what Kevin ended up doing at school and how the whole town has turned against mom because of what her son had done. It's quite sad, but intriguing. I don't ever wish that feeling upon anyone. I felt her pain, her sadness, the I-want-to-shake-you-until-you-wake-up-from-this-bad-dream, but it was all there. I would highly recommend this movie, just don't expect a fantasy ending. I give this movie 5 Daisy-girls.
• Exit Through The Gift Shop: This documentary, movie, or whatever you want to call it has to do with street artists and their graffiti. It's pretty interesting and I had been wanting to see it for quite sometime. Some people have said it's a true movie, others say it's a hoax, but whatever it is, it sure was entertaining. This French guy who lives in L.A. with his family decides to videotape his cousin, who makes small space invader mosaics and glues them throughout the town. The French guy gets to meet other artists and videotapes them. Finally he meets Banksy and by this time, this guy thinks he is the shit. After Banksy's art starts to sell really well, he suggests to the French dude to get all his filming out there so that the right people can get credit for it. Well he does, well more like tries and he fails. Banksy doesn't like it and from what the film shows, it was very spazmatic. Banksy suggests the French guy go back home to L.A. and that he will work on the film. During this time, the French guy thinnks of himself very highly and instead of spending time with his family he decides he wants to go out there and put a name for himself in the graffiti world. Only he lets it go to his head even more. He decides to bank on it and sets up this BIG production of an art opening that he is not ready for. But he insist it be better than anyone else's art opening and  he even has a crew to help him out. At this point, I think this guy is an ass. He has a family and all he cares about is banking on something he has never really done. Banksy and a few others are left scratching their heads as to what has become of this French guy. The opening is a success and if anything the French guy got an even bigger head. Interesting and fun to watch. I recommend 4 Daisy-girls.

It's been a while and it could be the fact that I didn't really watch movies for quite some time. I was trying to catch up on shows I recorded and playing my new DSi that my hubby got me for my birthday a few weeks ago.

• Sexual Chronicles of a French Family: This movie has a lot of sex and nudity. Everyone in this movie comes out naked except for the principal and secretary. I mean the whole family is naked and having sex (not with each other of course). It has to do with some guy and his friends that dare each other to masturbate in class, record it, send it to some girl so she can judge. Except the boy got caught and suspended. The boy is 18 and a virgin and wonders what it's like to have sex. In the mean time, mom starts to questions whether or not she should talk to her 2 sons and her daughter about their sexual lives. She does, and they don't tell her much, but her father-in-law does dish out some info. It's quite a sad story, but I love it. The rest of the movie has to do with the boy trying to find his sexual side and how to go about it. Meantime, the brother ends up being gay (well bi) and the sis and her man are big ol' nymphos. In the end, I didn't really like the story. It didn't go anywhere. The boy was depressed this whole time because he hadn't had sex yet and when he does, he is smiling on a family portrait and the movie is over. I give this movie 2 Daisy- girls. 
• The Queen of Versailles: Hmmm, I had been wanting to see this movie/documentary when I first heard about it a while back. It was even on my IMDB movie watchlist. Then I saw that it was showing on Bravo and I recorded it. This movie/doc... call it what you want, is pretty interesting. It has to do with David Siegal and his wife and the 8 kids they have (oldest being 12). This family is loaded and set out to build the biggest single-family living mansion in the U.S. Was going to have about 10 kitchens, loads of bathrooms and even more loads of bedrooms, a ballroom, bowling alley... you name it. David owns the biggest timeshare company in the world, but when the economic crisis hit, it hit them big time. I like the family, well the parents. They both seem realistic and don't seem as if they are the king and queen of the world. They are realistic people that realized that they could not build their dream home and have to do with what they have, even shopping at Wal-Mart. It's not to say that mom gave away her fur coats and such, but they weren't trying to be snobby, or fake, or anything of that sort. It was actually sad in a way because David was trying so hard to keep his company going and not wanting to let go of his employees. the economic crisis hit everyone. I recommend seeing this film, I give it 5 Daisy-girls. It was a pretty interesting film.  
• Under the Same Moon: This movie is Mexican with English subtitles. Or American. Anyway, it doesn't really matter if it's Mexican or American, the thing is, it's pretty good to watch. It has to do with a Mexican lady who works for rich families over in Los Angeles. Her son is living with her mom in Mexico. Every Sunday she calls him from a pay phone and she tells him that she wishes she could be with him. I'm quite sure the kid is tired of hearing this BS from mom seeing as she hasn't seen him in about 6 years or so. Anyway, grandma dies, and seeing as he doesn't have a dad, he sets off to cross the border (illegally!) thanks to this young Hispanic couple (who don't speak Spanish!) who are willing to cross him over for some money (so the guy can continue on with his college courses). Everything is going fine after the border patrol checks them out, then they realize that the van they are in has expired tags and a lot of parking tickets. So there goes the van being towed away with the kid hiding under the back seat. A day or so later mom is still working with the richy families and the security guards (also Hispanic) has a thing for her and asks her out but she declines. Some lady from back in Mexico calls the mom to let her know that the kid is missing and that her mom died (this was about 4 days after). Now.... how the fuck are you not going to call someone to let them know your mom passed away?! Anyway, later on the kid tries to get help to go to L.A. and he meets up with some guy who tries to sell him off but some lady takes him. He ends up going to a house where there are illegal men there staying overnight. While working the immigration shows up and all the men scatter. He ends up tagging along with some man that couldn't care less about this boy, but he continues to tag along. they end up in Arizona and the kid says his dad lives there. He ends up seeing dad for the first time in years and the kids story touches the distant father that he promises to take him to L.A. to be with mom, only he doesn't show up. The man that dislikes the kid ends up feeling sorry for him and decides to ride with him to L.A. Meanwhile mom is debating whether or not she should stay in L.A. in case the kid shows up, or go back to Mexico. They finally find each other when mom is at the pay phone she calls her son at every Sunday, and the kid happens to end up there after running away from the cops. End of sob story. It was pretty decent like I said before, I give it 4 Daisy-girls.

Happy Easter everyone! Seeing as my hubby is still sleeping, I figured I would type away some of my movie reviews that I have seen this past week.

• Volver: Let me start out by saying that I could care less about Penelope Cruz. I don't like her accent when she speaks English and I don't like her demeanor. I'm all for Hispanics or other races and ethnicities making it through to movies made in America, but her and a few other Hispanics I couldn't care less for. BUT, there are always exceptions. This movie is not American and is not in English. It is Spanish...and it was good. Even Penelope Cruz. Her acting and her manners and such are so different from American movies. Anyway, onto the movie. It's about her, her sister, her mom and her daughter. Husband loses job, says he will find another one. Penelope comes home from work one day and sees daughter waiting for her. She then starts to cry and says that dad was sexually attacking her and she killed him. Penelope feels angry and sad about it.Tells the daughter that everything will be okay. A neighbor leaves his key of his restaurant to her because he is leaving. She stores the hubby body in the restaurant refrigerator. Some guy comes up to her, says he has a film crew that is hungry, she passes the restaurant over as hers and makes them some food and money on the side. The neighbor has no idea she is doing this, seeing as he is trying to sell it. A neighbor of her aunt calls saying that the aunt died. Penelope, her sis, and her daughter go over there. Sis gets creeped out cause she feels mom present and mom is deceased. Penelope and her mom got along, but she wasn't raised by her, she was raised by her mom instead. 
• **** I did not get a chance to finish the Volver rating and review but go see it. I give it 4 Daisy- girls.****
• Dopamine: 3 guys are working on a computer program and in order to test it out, they decide to put it in some computers in a kindergarten class. One of the guys had slept with the teacher ( but all the guys did not know that she was a teacher since they had met at a bar the previous night). There's a glitch in the program and one of the guys (not the one that slept with the teacher) goes to the kindergarten class to try and fix it. Since the program involves an artificially-lived computer character named Koy Koy, one of the students feels connected to Koy Koy and makes him his friend. The guy and the teacher sort of hit it off. There is a bit of awkwardness, but you know they are into each other. After innocently flirting, they end up kissing and eventually sleep with each other. One of the times they are out at a bar, they realize that the girl has sleep with two of the three guys and the guy that is into her leaves the bar. The men paying the computer guys to develop the program decide to scrap the program and the three guys get upset saying that they have spent the last three years not having a social life, let alone sleep trying to get this program up and running. The guy who likes the teacher makes a copy of it and takes it to the kindergarten class, where he gives the copy to the little boy and says that he can talk to Koy Koy anytime he wants at home. There is awkwardness with the teacher and the guy, they both go on their separate ways. After some time, the guy realizes he has nothing holding him back since the program flopped and decides to go to the teacher, who no longer works at the school. He goes to her apartment and sees that she is selling all her belongings because she is going to move. It ends with both of them confessing how they feel toward each other and that they really don't have anyone else but each other. It was sort of cutesy, I'm giving this 3 or 4 Daisy- girls.
• Storytelling: It's about two small stories set based on two students who have no relation to one another. The first story stars Selma Blair who is taking a small writing course. There's about ten or so students and they read their stories, but are quick to criticize each other, basically saying how much their writing sucks. Only thing is, the harshest critic happens to be the professor who doesn't hold back and doesn't care how he makes his students feel. Selma sees the professor in a bar and they go back to his place and we all know what happens. But before it did, she goes to his restroom and finds pictures of all her other classmates in sexual poses. Seems to be that they have all slept with the professor at one time or another, even the guys, even the guy Selma had been sleeping with when the movie first started. She then shares her story in class and is criticized by the professor saying that it sounds too fictional. It pretty much ends with her saying that it is not fiction and it's true because it happened to her. The second story has to do with Paul Giamatti calling an old classmate and trying to catch up. The conversation is very one-sided and very uncomfortable to witness. The girl can care less about this guy. He then goes to a high school where he tells them that he wants to make a documentary and that it will be shown in HBO and other big channels. Thing is, it's a lie. He wants to make a documentary just to make one, to feel connected to someone and he finds it in some high school loner. This story was more depressing than the first one. I actually didn't really want to see this after some time. So if you want to see a real downer type of movie, this should be one of them. I give it 3 Daisy- girls.

This post won't be so long seeing as I have only really seen two movies since my last posting, but the movies I watched were great!

• The Changeling-  I had been wanting to see this movie since it pretty much came out, then I forgot about it. Then I jumped to record it the moment I saw it showing on cable. Seeing as it was late when I started to watch it, I didn't think that I would watch the whole thing (something I hardly do) in one sitting...but I did! Wow, oh wow... this movie was heart-breaking and unbelievable. Angelina Jolie stars as a single mom who went to work one day, came home, and her son was gone. She called the cops and filed a report. Then they found her son, only it wasn't her son and she kept telling the cops that and everyone who would listen. There were too many discrepancies to even begin to believe that this boy was her son. His looks, his height, his appetite, his schooling, his teeth, his manhood. She had teachers, doctors (her own), dentists, her priest saying they would back her up in saying that this boy was not her son, but the cops would have none of that. Instead, they decided to get their own doctor and make excuses for the boys changes [trauma stuns your growth (so much that you SHRINK 3 inches)]. Then they take her to a psych ward until she accepts that the police was right and that the boy is her son. Every day she refused to sign the form stating so and she was left in there being medicated and was about to be given electric shock therapy, until her priest and some lawyers came just in time to stop it. In another related story, there's this other boy who will be deported to Canada who starts crying at the police station. He then states to the police that he has been a witness to his uncle killing so many kids he lost track, but somewhere around 20 at his ranch chicken coop. He goes into detail of what the uncle did and what the uncle made him do. The police don't believe him at first but then they show the boy pictures and the boy is able to identify most of them being victims. Among one of them is Angelina's son. The police goes to the ranch, tells the boy to start digging since "he buried them, might as well dig them up." So the boy dug and about 5 minutes later, the police started seeing shoes, skulls, body parts. They arrested the uncle in Canada, who went into hiding (at least tried to) at his sister's house, but she called the cops. Angelina was told of the killings and of her son being a victim. This was all based on a true story. So true that the residents of the city of Wineville did not want to be associated with such horror that it changed it's name to Mira Loma. As in Mira Loma in California.that's 24 miles east of where my parents live. I know there have been several movies based in Los Angeles and I love that, but somehow this hit home. It was a very sad, stunning, shocking story and movie. If you haven't seen this movie go see it NOW! I give this movie 5 Daisy-girls, PLUS 5 more.
• The Mysteries of Pittsburgh- I stumbled upon this movie after watching I-forgot-what on the LOGO channel. It had to do with some guy who has a mob dad and has finished school. So before he goes to work as a stock broker, he has an unforgettable Summer. He goes to a party and meets Sienna Miller. She is pretty, well was, because I don't think she is now, still cute though. She is quick to tell him that she has a boyfriend. Before he realizes it, the boyfriend becomes his friend. Soon the three are all hanging out all the time. So much that the guy's girlfriend feels left out and soon dumps him. Oh, and she was also his boss at the school bookstore. Stuff happens and the boyfriend leaves for a while, so the guy and the girlfriend become close. The boyfriend comes back and he is in trouble. Turns out he owes to the dad, but states that he can't buy himself out of the debt. They go to dad and in return the boyfriend is told to defriend (my word by the way) the son and in return he will be free. The son says fuck that and leaves town with the boyfriend, but not before breaking into the house and stealing some jewelry. Of course the silent alarm goes off and dad calls the cops. A chase ensues and the boyfriend climbs some stairs and jumps off the smokestack and dies. The son is arrested, dad bails him out. The son asks dad why he called the cops, dad doesn't want to discuss it and tells him to get in the car. The he orders him to get in the car, then demands he get in the car. The son walks away and in a voice-over says he never saw his dad again that he was going to grand central station to catch the train for his future in stocks. It was a pretty decent movie, I give it 4 Daisy-girls.

What can I say? The list on my DVR is actually getting smaller and smaller even though I know I've added movies. Something's not right, but I'm not going to bother with it for the time being. I've been thinking about my rating scale and how it's not fair to Daisy that I only use her name and not some type of icon or something in relation to her. Honestly, I haven't even bothered trying to make it any different, but it's the thought that counts (at least for the time being).

• Winter's Bone: Of all places, I recorded this off of Lifetime. I had read articles and such about how Jennifer Lawrence was great in this movie. So I decided to record and watch it. The movie suuuuucks. I don't mean the actual movie, but the whole situation and the characters suck. Jennifer trying to find her drug dealing dad so that he can show up to court because he put the house up for collateral on his bail. The people living in the Ozarks ( which I hope they aren't really like that) who turn their backs to her when she wants information of where her dad may be. The uncle (who has a change of heart after a while). The ladies that beat the shit out of her. The way she finds her dad, thanks to the ladies that beat her earlier in the movie. The whole situation sucked for her. The movie was good. So good, it caught my hubby's interest for at least half of the film, but I think it had to do more with how Jennifer was being treated and her and her family's situation. I don't know what else to really say about this movie, except go see it (unedited and commercial free of course), but don't forget that I warned you of what you are about to see. I give it 4 Daisy-girls.

• X: (aka X:Night of Vengeance). Uhm...wow...ya...wow. First of all, this movie starts out with a naked guy standing in the middle of the room while a lady is talking about his features to a circle of high-class looking women. Okay, let's go back...the movie starts out with a naked guy standing...NAKED! Not as in, oh I see his ass and a lil something. More as in I see his chest, his ass, his cock and his balls.... NAKED! Ok, now that we have gotten that out of the way, the movie doesn't have much else on the guy. It has to do with the girl. High-end call girl who stumbles upon a runaway and asks her if she wants to earn some fast cash by being involved in a threesome. Well, obviously shit goes down and soon enough they are being hunted down by some  bad cop who pretty much wants them dead. It's pretty high paced and lots more girl beatings (wayyyyyyyyyyyy more than Winter's Bone). The lady pretty much gets the shit beat out of her multiple times and repeatedly punched in the face (at that point I pointed out to my hubby that she's not even bleeding all that badly except for a minor cut on the corner of her lip). the homeless girl got annoying a few times, but the movie was too fast paced for me to take much interest. I was rooting more for the beaten gal. Ok, so going back to the plot of the movie...hmm, well I already covered that about after the threesome going bad. I would recommend going to see this movie. There is a lot of tits, ass, dick, chi-chis, and more boobs, but the story line is pretty interesting. I give this movie 4 Daisy-girls.

• Things We Lost In The Fire: It stars Halle Barry, Benicio Del Toro and flashback scenes of David Duchovny. Okay, I get that Halle Barry is hot, but WHY must she always look run down in movies? I'm not saying she needs to be sexy and shit in movies, but why dumb down her looks? Will she not be believable as a widow mourning the loss of her husband and a mom trying to keep her kids happy if she were to look hot? *shakes head* Anyway, this movie got 3 stars and I was left wondering why. I mean the movie is not bad or even that bad, but I don't think it deserves 3 our of 4 stars. Basically David (husband) dies and Halle (wife) asks Benicio to move in because he is her hubby's drug addicted best friend. He says no at first but then reconsiders when she tells him that he can have a place to live rent free in return for him (a man) being there and to help her cope with the murder of her husband (which is told in flashback almost toward the end of the movie). Benicio goes through withdrawals, gets hooked again, and again goes through withdrawals. I don't get what SHE was getting out of all this because it seemed to me that she just had an extra kid to take care of seeing as she was cooking, doing laundry...all for him, as if he was a replacement hubby, BUT she wasn't getting any sex out of it. Like I said, the movie was pretty decent, I just don't see why it was given three stars. I'm willing to give it, well shit, like I've mentioned before I don't dare cut Daisy in half, so I'm going to give this movie 3 Daisy-girls ( if I didn't love my Daisy SO much, I wold give this movie 2.5).
